Boat Tours on America's Cup 12 Meters - Ticketed Sails
Sailing on the America's Cup yachts is not your average boat tour. We specialize in sailing the illustrious America's Cup 12 Meter class yachts. This is an experience unrivaled anywhere else and is "hands-on" for all who wish to join in. On board, our friendly, professional skilled crew welcome your interaction in sailing or, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Your sailing excursion begins in the Newport Harbor. We leave from our docks at the Newport Harbor Hotel Marina, right in the center of town just off America's Cup Avenue. Grab a line and lend a hand to the crew to hoist the main sail as we motor out of Newport's inner harbor past the New York Yacht Club and Ida Lewis Lighthouse. Once the sails are set, the motor's turned off and you'll sail around Fort Adams to expansive Narragansett Bay. You'll cruise past such infamous landmarks as JFK and President Eisenhower's Summer White Houses, Castle Hill Light, Fort Wetherill & Mackerel Cove along the shores of Jamestown and even under the Newport Pell Bridge near the Naval Academy and Rose Island Lighthouse. These are just some of the sights you'll see before returning back the Newport Harbor. Anyone who wants to is welcome to take the helm at the captain's discretion.
Tickets are available for a 2 hour casual sail. Our boats cruise daily in the evening around sunset and also afternoons on weekends. Individual tickets are also available for a 3 hour racing experience (no experience necessary) to sailing enthusiasts interested in a challenge of Match Racing. These events are organized a couple times during our season. We give people the chance to see what it feels like to be an America's Cup sailor.
NEW for the 2013 season - America's Cup Charters is proud to be working with the Atlantic Cup to offer our clients a rare close up look at the Class 40 racing yachts, the international teams and the inshore grand prix racing. The Atlantic Cup is a dedicated class 40 Annual Event that combines offshore distance and sprint racing and concludes in Newport for inshore racing on May 25 & 26, 2013. Reservation/Cancelation Policy
For reservations please call 401-846-9886. Our Sails representative will ask for your credit card number and cell phone number to reserve your spot. We ask you to meet us for "check in" on the dock 30 minutes prior to sailing. We sail rain or shine (rain gear is available on board if necessary).
You may cancel or change your reservation up to 24 hours prior to your sail. No customer cancelations within 24 hours of sailing - "No-Shows" will be charged full price. Due to our changeable New England weather the Captain may cancel, postpone or terminate the sail due to severe weather at his discretion. There in no charge for sails canceled by the Captain.
