The Volvo Ocean Race is the world’s longest professional sporting event and leading offshore sailing competition.

Newport, Rhode Island is the 6th of 11 stops in the 38,000 nautical mile Volvo Ocean Race around the world. The Race Village is located at Fort Adams and is open May 5-7.

The Volvo 65’s will arrive on the horizon from Brazil around May 5, after a grueling leg of racing from South America. Pro Am Racing takes place May 14th &15th, and the In–Port Race on May 16th. These are short races sailed right off Fort Adams in Narragansett Bay. The start of Leg 7 across the wild North Atlantic will be on May 17, 2015.

We are offering individuals or groups a few options for getting out on the water to watch these Volvo 65 racing machines! Sailing aboard a classic America’s Cup 12 Meter yacht while watching the Volvo 65’s - doesn’t get better than that! It will certainly be the highlight of your trip to Newport - we have limited seats available for the racing dates, so book early.

For the Individual

Option 1 for Individuals:

Sail with us, 1:00pm-4:00pm $195 per person.
Includes complimentary round trip water shuttle ticket to The Race Village, soft drinks, water & light snacks.
See the action from the water! It’s a mix of viewing the Volvo 65’s racing and sailing Narragansett Bay aboard one of our America’s Cup 12 Meter yachts. The water shuttle will take you from Perotti Park (one block from our dock) to Fort Adams and back so you can experience the Race Village at your leisure, either before or after sailing with us. (Race Village open Daily 11am-7pm)

Available: May 14, 15, 16, or 17, 2015

Option 2 for Individuals:

Sail with us 5:30-7:30pm $85 per person.
Includes complimentary round trip water shuttle ticket to Race Village, soft drinks & water.
Spend your day at the Volvo Race Village at Fort Adams. You can view the Volvo 65’s from shore, check out the exhibits, vendors and experience the

entertainment and activities within the Volvo Ocean Race Experience. After all the excitement of the Volvo 65’s racing is over for the day, take the shuttle back to town (Perotti Park is one block from our docks) and go sailing with us aboard one of our America’s Cup 12 Meter yachts for a sail around Narragansett Bay, where you may help sail or relax and enjoy the ride.

Option 1 for Groups:

Private afternoon charter for you and your friends. 12:30-4:30pm $2,600. Includes a Captain, 2 crew, lunch, soft drinks and water.
Sail onboard a classic 12 Meter while you view the Volvo 65’s racing and then enjoy your private sail around Narragansett Bay.

We can accommodate 12 guests per boat.

Option 2 for Groups: Private evening charter. 6-8 pm $1,200.
Includes a Captain, 2 crew, soft drinks, water & snacks.
Enjoy your day at Race Village and then get on the water sailing aboard our classic 12 Meters.
Accommodates 12 guests per boat.

Both options available Daily. Water shuttle round trip tickets for Race Village can be arranged at an additional cost.

The Volvo stopover will be a very exciting time to be in Newport. Sailing aboard our Classic America’s Cup yachts, watching the Volvo 65’s and visiting the Race Village will provide a fantastic day for both sailing enthusiast and novices. We do suggest that you book early!

America’s Cup Charters is Newport's largest fleet of America's Cup yachts. We have friendly, professional crew and beautifully restored yachts. Our yachts are conveniently located at their own berths in the center of town at the Newport Harbor Hotel Marina, so there are no additional pick-up or drop-off fees. The water shuttle is located at Perotti Park, just 1 block from our docks. Convenient parking is 2 blocks away at the Newport Visitors Center.
